Bidgely is an AI-powered, cloud based SaaS solution provider that enables electric and gas utilities worldwide to personalize customer experiences, optimize grid and customer operations and accelerate their journey towards the clean energy future.

The Energy Industry is being disrupted by a number of new technologies like EVs, Solar, Batteries, Smart Meters, and Smart Home devices. Consumers are becoming self-sufficient with their own energy production and storage threatening a century old utility business model. Additionally, the grid was not designed for the peaks created by EVs and the valleys created by the solar generation which has created new challenges and opportunities for the utilities (and innovative companies) to manage an evolving grid.

About The Role

As the VP/SVP of People Operations, you will architect and execute Bidgely’s end-to-end people strategy that will help the company scale. You’ll lead payroll, benefits, talent acquisition, onboarding, engagement, performance management, productivity, and retention initiatives—ensuring every phase of the employee lifecycle is aligned to our strategic vision. You will partner with the executive team to build high-performing leaders, embed the Bidgely culture across all levels, and define, measure, and report on the KPIs that drive our people agenda.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership & Vision

    • Define and own the People Operations roadmap, aligning all programs with business objectives and growth targets

    • Serve as a trusted advisor to the executive team on organizational design, workforce planning, establishing core skills and competencies, and culture.

  • Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

    • Develop and implement innovative recruiting strategies to attract top talent in a competitive market.

    • Oversee a seamless onboarding experience that accelerates time-to-productivity and fosters early engagement.

  • Compensation, Payroll & Benefits

    • Design and manage competitive compensation programs, payroll administration, and benefits offerings.

    • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.

  • Employee Engagement & Productivity

    • Architect engagement surveys, focus groups, and action-planning processes to continuously improve morale and retention.

    • Partner with business leaders to identify productivity bottlenecks and deploy solutions that enhance performance.

  • Performance Management & Employee Lifecycle

    • Build and refine a performance management framework that promotes accountability, development, and recognition.

    • Oversee career-pathing, succession planning, and internal mobility initiatives.

  • Retention & Culture Building

    • Analyze turnover trends and implement targeted interventions to enhance retention.

    • Champion the Bidgely values, driving culture-building programs and leader-led initiatives that reinforce our mission.

  • Metrics & Analytics

    • Establish, track, and report on key People Ops KPIs (e.g., time-to-fill, retention rate, engagement scores, productivity metrics).

    • Leverage data analytics to guide decision-making and continuously optimize programs.

  • Leadership Development

    • Design and deliver leadership development programs to cultivate a pipeline of strong, values-driven managers.

    • Coach senior leaders on organizational effectiveness and people-centered leadership.

Qualifications

  • 12+ years of progressive People Operations or HR leadership experience at companies with at least 250 employees (preferably with at least 500 employees), including 5+ years at a director or executive level

  • Has led international People Operations / HR teams, preferably in India

  • Proven track record designing and scaling global HR programs in high-growth technology or professional services environments.

  • Deep expertise in compensation strategy, payroll, benefits administration, talent acquisition, performance management, and employee engagement.

  • Strong analytical skills with hands-on experience defining and reporting on People Ops metrics.

  • Exceptional communicator and influencer, adept at partnering with C-suite and cross-functional teams.

  • Demonstrated ability to build and develop high-performing teams.

  • SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or equivalent certification preferred.

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced HR certification a plus.
