Energy Dome is an innovative company operating in the utility-scale energy storage sector. We design, build, own, and operate large-scale energy infrastructure projects supporting the global energy transition.As we expand our footprint in the United States, we are strengthening our commercial development platform and are looking for an experienced Project Development Manager to lead the end-to-end development of front-of-the-meter projects across key US markets.This is a high-impact role within a fast-scaling organization, with strong long-term growth potential in the US portfolio.Role OverviewThe Project Development Manager will be fully accountable for the advancement of utility-scale energy projects in the United States, from early-stage site identification through permitting, interconnection, and Financial Close / Ready-to-Build status.We are looking for a true developer — someone who has personally owned projects end-to-end, not only specific components of the development lifecycle.The role is hybrid and can be based anywhere in the US, with travel as required by project needs.Key ResponsibilitiesFull Lifecycle Project Development• Originate and advance greenfield and co-development opportunities.• Lead projects from site control through permitting, interconnection, and Financial Close / Ready-to-Build.• Own project schedules, development budgets, and risk registers.• Ensure alignment between development milestones and corporate pipeline targets.Interconnection & ISO Engagement• Lead interconnection strategy and manage applications within major US ISOs (e.g., ERCOT, SPP, PJM, CAISO or similar).• Coordinate technical studies and manage consultants supporting grid integration.• Optimize project positioning within ISO processes and timelines.Permitting & Stakeholder Management• Lead permitting strategy and oversee submission of applications to relevant authorities.• Act as primary point of contact for local authorities, municipalities, landowners, and community stakeholders.• Manage environmental assessments and mitigation requirements.• Drive resolution of development risks proactively.Commercial & Financial Structuring• Support commercial strategy in coordination with internal teams (Power Markets, Structured Finance, Commercial Engineering).• Contribute to development of business cases and financial models.• Support negotiation of key development agreements (land, interconnection, development partnerships).• Prepare projects for investment decision and Financial Close.Cross-Functional Leadership• Coordinate internal teams (Legal, Grid, Finance, Engineering, Commercial).• Manage third-party developers and advisors.• Ensure structured reporting, dashboard tracking, and executive visibility.Required Experience & Background• 5–10+ years of experience in utility-scale energy project development in the United States.• Proven track record of personally leading projects from early-stage development through permitting and interconnection to Financial Close or Ready-to-Build.• Experience developing front-of-the-meter projects connected to major US ISOs.• Strong familiarity with interconnection processes and ISO market structures.• Demonstrated ability to manage land acquisition, permitting pathways, and community engagement.• Experience working in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Energy, or related field.Preferred Experience• Experience developing projects in Texas and/or SPP.• Background in energy storage, renewable energy, or hybrid projects.Key Competencies• True ownership mindset.• Strong commercial acumen.• Ability to operate independently and make decisions under uncertainty.• Structured and analytical approach to risk management.• Excellent stakeholder negotiation skills.• High resilience in long development cycles.• Entrepreneurial drive and passion for building projects from scratch.What We OfferThis role offers direct accountability over strategic US developments within a rapidly scaling energy company.We offer a competitive compensation package aligned with experience and expected contribution, including:• Base salary range: $150,000 – $190,000 (depending on experience and impact);• Performance-based variable compensation;• Participation in Energy Dome’s stock option plan;• Travel allowances as required.For exceptional candidates with a strong track record of delivery, compensation may be structured to reflect higher expected impact.Energy Dome is an equal opportunity employer.We evaluate candidates based on merit, skills, and potential.
