SUMMARY

The Sr. Generalist of Global HR is responsible for providing end-to-end HR operational support for Korean expats and global assignees, with a primary focus on expats HR support including payroll and benefits support, immigration management, and tax coordination with external accounting firms.

This role also supports in-office HR operations, HR roster management, Global HQ (South Korea) HR reporting, and onboarding and offboarding processes. The position works closely with Global HQ HR, Finance, Legal, and external vendors to ensure compliance, accuracy, and a smooth employee experience.

This position reports to the Director of HR Strategy, or another senior management personnel that the CEO of the Company may designate. This position is In-Office reporting to the Houston, TX office _ days per week with working hours are Monday through Friday, from 9:00am to 6:00pm local time. This position is expected to travel up to 10%.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Korean Expat HR Support (including Payroll and Benefits Support)
    • Serve as the primary HR point of contact for expats throughout the assignment lifecycle.
    • Support payroll processing for expats and applicable employee groups, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local requirements.
    • Administer benefits enrollment, changes, and inquiries including health insurance, retirement plans, and other company-sponsored benefits.
    • Expat Tax Support for Korea & US

- Coordinate expats tax support with external accounting firms for Korea comprehensive income tax and US income tax filings.

- Support tax equalization, tax briefing coordination, and required data collection.

- Act as an HR liaison between expats, Finance, and external tax advisors.

  • Coordinate with Payroll, Finance, and external vendors to resolve payroll or benefits issues in a timely manner.
  • Support expats with HR-related inquiries including compensation, benefits, payroll, tax, and assignment administration.
  • Coordinate with Local HQ HR and local stakeholders to ensure alignment with global expats policies and practices.

  • Immigration (Employeer-sponsored Visa) Management
    • Manage employer-sponsored employment-based visa processes for expats and other global assignees in coordination with external immigration counsel.
    • Track visa status, work authorization validity, renewal timelines, and key immigration milestones to ensure continuous compliance.
    • Coordinate document collection, filings, extensions, and compliance requirements related to immigration, in accordance with applicable laws and company policies.

  • HR Roster Management & Global HQ Reporting
    • Maintain accurate monthly HR rosters, including headcount, expat status, employment changes, and key employee attributes, in alignment with HR Operations.
    • Prepare and submit monthly HR roster reports to Global HQ in alignment with global HR reporting requirements and timelines.
    • Support the preparation of baseline HR data and materials for Global HQ reporting, management reviews, and ad-hoc requests.
    • Ensure data consistency and accuracy between local HR systems, payroll records, and HQ reporting files.
    • Coordinate with HQ HR and internal stakeholders to validate data, address discrepancies, and respond to follow-up inquiries.

  • HR Operations and HR Compliance Support
    • Align with Hanwha Q CELLS policies, maintain federal and state compliance requirements;
    • Prepare routine and ad-hoc HR data summaries to support HQ reporting and internal reviews;
    • Maintain strict confidentiality of client, company, and personnel information;
    • Support and Audit the status changes;

  • Other Duties as Assigned
    • Regular attendance, in accordance with company's attendance policy and supervisory assignment, is an essential job duty requirement for this position.
    • Perform other duties and special projects, as assigned by Management

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 5+ years of relevant HR experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Korean
  • Strong knowledge of employer-sponsored visa management (e.g., L-1, E-2, H-1B, DEEL)
  • Experience supporting Korea and US tax filings in coordination with external tax firms
  • Experience supporting Korean employees with HR administration, payroll, and relocation
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

· Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

· Working knowledge of HR-related state and federal regulations

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, HRIS, and payroll systems (e.g., Workday, ADP)
  • Strong customer focus, adaptability, and sense of accountability

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) or related energy industries
  • Advanced reporting skills using Excel
  • Proficiency using HRIS (such as Workday), Payroll system (such as ADP, Paycom, Paylocity, etc), and MS Office
