POSITION DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking an experienced Software Product Manager to drive product definition, development, and lifecycle management of our mobile applications, serving residential energy customers. This role is responsible for exploring and understanding use cases, authoring detailed user journeys and requirements, prioritizing features, and collaborating cross-functionally to deliver intuitive, high-performing mobile experiences that improve customer engagement and satisfaction. You will own the mobile product roadmap from concept through launch and continuous optimization, balancing user needs, business goals, and technical feasibility.

This position is based out of San Francisco or Santa Clara, California, with 20% business travel (domestic and international).

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify market opportunities, customer pain points, and competitive positioning.
  • Align product strategy with company objectives and growth targets.
  • Conduct user research, interviews, surveys, and usability testing.
  • Analyze customer behavior, app performance metrics, and feedback.
  • Translate insights into actionable product requirements and enhancements.
  • Own and prioritize the product backlog based on impact and ROI.
  • Write clear product requirements documents (PRDs), map user journeys, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Partner with Engineering, Design (UX/UI), QA, and Marketing to ensure timely releases.
  • Lead sprint planning, roadmap reviews, and release planning processes.
  • Ensure high usability, accessibility, and performance across various surfaces.
  • Monitor KPIs such as downloads, activation, engagement, retention, and NPS.
  • Continuously improve app performance and feature adoption through A/B testing and experimentation.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for mobile product initiatives.
  • Communicate roadmap updates and product performance to executive leadership.
  • Coordinate with Customer Support, Sales, and Operations to incorporate field feedback.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of product management experience, with at least 3 years focused on mobile applications.
  • Experience delivering consumer-facing or residential-focused digital products.
  • Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Ability to interpret data and translate analytics into strategic decisions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in residential industries (property management, utilities, home services, IoT, or smart home platforms)
  • Familiarity with mobile analytics tools (e.g., Firebase, Mixpanel, Amplitude)
  • Experience launching subscription-based or service-oriented mobile products
  • Knowledge of mobile UX best practices and accessibility standards

The salary range is required by the California Pay Transparency Act and may differ depending on the location of those candidates hired nationwide. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to, skill set, education, licenses and certifications, essential job duties and requirements, and the necessary experience relative to the job’s minimum qualifications.
