Role Overview 📝

As the Night Operations Shift Manager, you are in a core execution role, responsible for executing night-sortation, as well as evening preparation for night operations. Your role focuses on supervising handlers, allocating work, exception handling and data accuracy, preventing operational debt from rolling into the following day.

This is an on-site role embedded in the day-to-day operations. The shifts for this role are a 4 days on, 3 days off shift pattern which will require you to work one day on the weekend. Our Ops Run team is organised into roles of different levels: this is a level 4 role reporting into the Ops Manager.

What you’ll be doing 🚀

  • Lead evening, pre-night depot activities - Ensure area readiness: yard, locations, belts, devices, scanners. Prepare magnums, pallets, cages, and equipment for Night Shift.

  • Support the Night Ops Manager by guiding handlers, training new staff, and assisting with linehaul unloads to keep inbound, sorting, and routing activities running smoothly.

  • Handle process exceptions, maintain equipment and depot safety standards, and resolve operational issues to ensure the shift is fully prepared.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives & highlight potential process improvements.

  • Maintain safety, standards, and productivity discipline.

What we’re looking for 🔎

  • 2-4 years’ experience operating in fast-paced depot, warehouse, or other operational roles.

  • Strong attention to detail and execution discipline.

  • Some shift leadership & people management experience.

  • Comfortable working PM / evening shifts.

  • High urgency, strong communication, strong escalation habits.

  • Comfortable solving real-time operational pressure during peak windows.

  • Able to communicate effectively & build relationships & work cross-functionally.

  • Safety-first mindset.

  • Competitive market-related salary. Including the opportunity to work overtime when required. Night roles are also paid an additional 10% night allowance.
