Data Scientist

Location: Sharon (Hybrid) | Type: Full-time

Join us in turning wastewater data into real-world impact!

At Kando, we use AI and data to make water systems smarter, cities healthier, and the planet more sustainable. Our technology transforms complex wastewater signals into clear, actionable insights that help utilities prevent pollution, reduce risk, and operate better.

If you’re excited about combining data science, environmental impact, and real-world systems — this role is for you.

About the Role

We’re looking for a hands-on Data Scientist to shape our end-to-end data science efforts. You’ll work with sensor-driven time series data, detect meaningful events in noisy environments, and translate complex signals into operational decisions that matter in the real world.

This is a high-ownership role with real influence — from research to production.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the full lifecycle of time-series analytics — from exploration to production
  • Design and improve anomaly detection and event scoring mechanisms
  • Connect upstream network behavior to WWTP risk using correlation and time-lag logic
  • Build production-ready models and automated retraining workflows
  • Improve sensor health, data quality monitoring, and drift detection
  • Develop supervised models when labels are available
  • Define evaluation frameworks to measure and continuously improve performance
  • Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and customer-facing teams

What We’re Looking For

  • 4+ years of experience as a Data Scientist with end-to-end ownership
  • Strong experience with time series, anomaly detection, and real-world noisy data
  • Excellent Python skills and production mindset
  • Ability to design evaluation methods when data is partial or imperfect
  • Experience turning research into reliable, continuously running systems
  • Strong communication skills and ability to translate technical insights into impact

Nice to have:

Experience with IoT/sensor data, neural networks for time series, supervised classification, or causal/lead-lag analysis.

If you’re excited about the mission but don’t meet every single requirement — we’d still love to hear from you.

Let’s build smarter water systems together.
