As an Engineering Project Manager, you’ll join a dynamic team committed to strengthening the world’s energy systems to make them more resilient, efficient, and reliable.

Based at our global headquarters in Houston, TX, the Engineering Project Manager is responsible for leading and managing engineering projects from inception to completion. This position oversees project planning, execution, monitoring, and closing, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. The Engineering Project Manager collaborates with cross-functional teams, including engineers, designers, stakeholders, and vendors, to deliver project goals and objectives. This position reports directly to our Chief Operating Officer.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Ownership and Planning

• Owns full project lifecycle: scope, deliverables, timeline, and budget adherence
• Partners with stakeholders to define project goals and success criteria
• Develops and drives detailed project plans and schedules
• Secures resources with leadership and aligns task ownership across teams
• Defines and tracks key milestones

Project Execution and Delivery

• Drives day-to-day execution to meet technical and business objectives
• Proactively manages risks, issues, and changes to scope or timeline
• Ensures adherence to quality, safety, and regulatory standards
• Maintains budget accountability and cost control
• Coordinates with cross-functional teams to resolve roadblocks and ensure alignment
• Monitors project budgets and expenditures.

Communication & Reporting

• Provides clear, timely updates to stakeholders and senior leadership
• Prepares concise reports, dashboards, and presentations on project performance
• Facilitates regular reviews and ensures decision-making moves forward
• Manages expectations, escalates critical issues, and drives resolution

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 5 years project management experience in manufacturing, engineering, or related field.
• Potential for 20% of domestic and/or international travel.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
• Prior experience with thin film and etch capital equipment purchases and development
• Experience managing government grant programs including reporting, scope management/changes
• Strong familiarity with phase-gate development processes
• Prior experience working with manufacturing start-ups

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• Proven ability to lead by influence across non-direct reporting lines
• Strong ownership mindset with delivery-first orientation
• Effective communicator with technical and non-technical audiences
• Skilled in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet)
• Organized, proactive, and adaptable in fast-paced environments
• Understanding of engineering workflows and product development cycles

Physical Demands: This position requires sitting at a desk and viewing a computer screen for extended periods while working or performing other office tasks. Ability to move around the office, including occasional standing, walking, and bending to retrieve documents, attend meetings, or use office equipment. Some light lifting may be required, up to 20 lbs.
