About Us:
Hey! We're Molg 👋 We're building robotic systems that make electronics manufacturing circular. We work with hyperscalers and leading electronics manufacturers to automate how hardware is designed, manufactured, disassembled, repaired, reused, and recovered. Using robotics, computational design, and AI, our systems turn today's e-waste into resilient, data-driven supply chains—and change how electronics are made in the first place.
IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:
Join a talented cross-functional team of software, mechanical, electrical, and robotics engineers to own and operate the network and infrastructure that powers Molg's robotics systems, microfactories, and software platforms. As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will:
Own the design, deployment, and operation of Molg's network and infrastructure — spanning on-premise industrial environments, cloud platforms, and customer-facing deployments.
Architect secure, reliable, and scalable network infrastructure that supports real-time robotics systems, data pipelines, and production software services.
Manage and maintain cloud infrastructure with a focus on uptime, cost efficiency, and security best practices.
Design and implement software-defined networking (SDN), VPNs, firewalls, and access control systems across Molg's facilities and customer sites.
Deploy and manage containerized infrastructure (Docker, Kubernetes) and support CI/CD pipeline infrastructure in collaboration with the software team.
Monitor system health, respond to incidents, and drive root cause analysis to continuously improve infrastructure reliability and performance.
Partner with robotics and software teams to ensure network and infrastructure requirements are met for new system deployments at customer facilities.
Travel to customer and partner sites (up to 33% of the time) to support infrastructure deployments, commissioning, and on-site troubleshooting.
Define and document infrastructure standards, runbooks, and disaster recovery procedures to support a growing, operationally rigorous organization.
You'll have the opportunity to build alongside an incredible team, develop innovative solutions, and grow in a fast-paced environment that values autonomy and impact.
WHO YOU ARE:
A seasoned infrastructure engineer who takes full ownership of the systems that keep complex operations running. You are equally comfortable designing cloud architecture and pulling cable in an industrial facility, and you bring a security-first mindset to everything you build. Specifically, you have:
5+ years of industry experience in infrastructure, network engineering, or DevOps/SRE roles with hands-on ownership of production environments.
Deep expertise in networking fundamentals — routing, switching, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, VPNs, and network security.
Strong experience managing cloud infrastructure on AWS, GCP, or Azure, including compute, storage, networking, and IAM.
Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible, Pulumi, or similar) and version-controlled infrastructure workflows.
Hands-on experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and supporting CI/CD pipeline infrastructure.
Experience deploying and managing infrastructure in industrial, manufacturing, or operational technology (OT) environments is a strong plus.
Familiarity with software-defined networking (SDN) and network segmentation strategies for mixed IT/OT environments.
Proficiency with Unix/Linux systems administration and shell scripting.
Comfort with on-site, hands-on infrastructure work — including rack and stack, cabling, and field troubleshooting.
Willingness and ability to travel to customer and partner sites up to 33% of the time.
Clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to translate infrastructure requirements and trade-offs for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to work in-person at Molg HQ in Sterling, VA when not traveling.
WHO WE ARE:
We spend our days building robotic systems, developing complex assembly intelligence software, and designing the next generation of circular products for our customers. Given the importance of working hands-on with physical systems, we are a 100% in-person team collaboratively working in our industrial space in Sterling, VA, down the road from the largest data center market in the world. Our facility includes a variety of robots, CNC milling machines, 3D printers, and all the tools needed to build and test our products. It is important to us that anyone on our team that is interested in learning how to use our various pieces of equipment and machinery is taught and can gain the skills and appreciation for making physical things.
THINGS TO KNOW:
We're a hands-on collaborative team with big ambitions, and there's a good amount of context-switching. We expect people to be autonomous and drive their own work to completion.
This role involves travel to customer and partner sites up to 33% of the time.
We are scrappy and looking to build a great sustainable company for years to come.
As a growing company and startup, priorities may shift as customer or business requirements change. We strive to empower individuals with context and decision-making power to meet this need.
