About Us

At Novoloop, we are at the forefront of sustainable materials innovation, developing technologies to transform waste into valuable chemical products. Our team is dedicated to advancing circular economy solutions through cutting-edge chemical technology, materials science, engineering, and process development.

Job Summary

We are seeking an expert QA/QC Engineer (for the waste/chemicals/recycling industry) to build the end-to-end analytical and QA/QC system that allows the company to reliably specify, screen, and qualify suitable feedstocks amongst a world of highly variable, contaminated, non-standard feedstock options and convert them into predictable, usable inputs for production, without slowing operations or creating unrealistic specs.

Location: Hybrid. 1) ~1–2 days/week on-site in Menlo Park, CA; 2) remote work for systems design/documentation; 3) periodic international travel, primarily to China

What You’ll Do

  • Design and implement scalable QA/QC and analytical systems for variable, contaminated feedstocks
  • Define practical frameworks for feedstock contamination and variability, including which impurities matter operationally and how they should be measured, tracked, and communicated
  • Develop sampling, screening, and escalation protocols that balance analytical rigor with production throughput and cost.
  • Translate analytical results into clear commercial and operational decisions (accept, blend, treat, downgrade, reject)
  • Develop QA/QC processes that are practical, adoptable, and effective in live operations
  • Support supplier qualification and monitoring, including site visits with colleagues in procurement (primarily in China)
  • Define analytical tools, workflows, and documentation required to operationalize QA/QC at scale
  • Work cross-functionally with R&D, operations, and procurement to align analytical insight with business and scale-up priorities.

About You

  • 8+ years of experience building or operating QA/QC or analytical systems for non-standard or highly variable materials
  • Willingness to travel internationally occasionally and collaborate closely with China-based partners and colleagues
  • Proven experience designing QA/QC systems from first principles, rather than only operating within mature, fixed-spec systems
  • Strong understanding of how contaminants impact yield, operability, product quality, equipment life, and safety risk
  • Ability to turn complex analytical data into actionable decisions for operations and supply chain teams
  • Practical, operations-minded approach; understands how production environments function and where QA systems commonly fail in practice.
  • Experience working with suppliers and supporting material qualification, audits, or field evaluations.
  • Background in chemical recycling, waste-to-energy, pyrolysis, hydrocarbons, natural products, mining, or similar industries preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field

Total Compensation

Listed compensation of $150k-200k consists of salary, 401k match, health benefits, and stock options.

Job Type: Full-time

Projected Total Compensation: $150,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
