The Opportunity

The Rancher Resource Coordinator serves as the main liaison for third-party rancher support services at Grassroots Carbon (GRC). After ranchers complete initial eligibility screening and sign up for the GRC carbon program, the Rancher Resource Coordinator coordinates external services such as soil sampling and third-party ranching expert calls and planning . Responsibilities include scheduling calls, overseeing multiple calendars, handling rancher documentation (reviewing, storing, and organizing), serving as the primary contact for various GRC vendors, and assisting with GRC monitoring as required. This position is part of the MRV (Monitoring, Reporting and Verification) team, and works closely with other GRC teams and departments as a liaison between GRC and our third-party vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and build a positive working relationship with GRC soil sampling vendors and third-party regenerative grazing experts
  • Maintain a high degree of responsiveness to third-party vendor requests in accordance with our established relationship.
  • Coordinate regenerative grazing consultant calls with third-party grazing experts and ranchers.
  • Track, organize, and store documentation for soil sampling and regenerative grazing plans.
  • Work with Ranch Advocate Managers to connect ranchers with third-party resources as needed.
  • Coordinate on-ranch technical visits from 3rd party vendors as required or as needed by program participation.
  • Detailed review of rancher documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Collaborate with team members across departments to ensure best in class data collection aligns with program requirements.
  • Track progress using our CRM software and other documentation systems.
  • Help develop processes and materials to improve the rancher experience.
  • Assist the MRV team with the processing of onboarding data as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience or familiarity with ranching, grazing, or agronomy practices; work experience in a coordinator role is a plus.
  • Demonstrated understanding of ranching and livestock management concepts and practices
  • Experience in engaging with landowners, ranchers, or farmers
  • Experience with soil carbon projects or other ecosystem services is a plus
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets and digital documentation systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including phone communication
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently against established metrics
  • Work onsite at our office next to the Riverwalk in downtown San Antonio
