Position Overview

Reman Technician with primary duties being related to Reman operations. Secondary duties backfill for Field Service Team.

About the Role-You will

  • Support Remanufacturing/Repair: Assist in the remanufacturing or repair of all battery packs requiring service due to field returns or process defects under the supervision of the Battery Staff Engineer.
  • Rebuild & Repair: Utilize torque tools, electrical test equipment, and functional test equipment to rebuild and repair any defects generated in-process or from returned packs.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Actively participate in identifying failure sources from returned packs and in-factory defects.
  • Documentation: Maintain thorough, detailed documentation of remanufacturing work using Excel and the Manufacturing Execution System for traceability and aiding cross-functional teams in Root Cause Analysis.
  • Troubleshoot Issues: Collaborate with engineering and production departments to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Support Remanufacturing/Repair: Assist in the remanufacturing or repair of all battery packs requiring service due to field returns or process defects under the supervision of the Battery Staff Engineer

  • Troubleshoot Issues: Collaborate with engineering and production departments to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Develop Instructions: Write and develop rework/repair instructions and procedures with support from Design Engineering.
  • Maintain 5S Standards: Adhere to daily 5S standards.
  • Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by management.

About the Role – Secondary Duties:

  • Field Service Support: Serve as a cross-functional member of the Field Service team.
  • Customer Support: Provide comprehensive support for the deployment of commercial vehicle batteries across various customer locations.
  • Hands-on Repairs: Conduct hands-on repairs, maintenance, and troubleshooting of high-voltage batteries using a range of tools from advanced computer diagnostics to basic mechanical tools at customer locations.
  • Customer Training: Maintain excellent communication with customers and property staff, providing hands-on training to customer operators and technicians.
  • Deployment: Deploy to customer locations as needed.

Your Experience Includes:

  • 3+ Years in a Remanufacturing Technician or Service technician role.
  • Preference for experience in EV or HV battery industry
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree or higher in a technical field preferred.
  • Self-starter with the ability to adapt interpersonal styles and techniques to influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Customer-focused attitude, with a high level of professionalism and discretion.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality, establish trust and credibility, and act with complete integrity.
  • Detail-oriented, resourceful and diligent.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Sound judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
  • Through understanding of technical components and processes involved in Battery Pack assembly.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret engineering requirements from text to drawings.
  • Proven ability to use a variety of tools, precision-measuring instruments and multi-meters

Location: Burlingame, CA

Travel: 0 – 10%

Compensation: $31.25-35.95
