Position Overview:
We are seeking an IT Technical Project Manager to lead cross-functional initiatives within our Information Technology group. This role bridges IT teams, production operations, and business stakeholders to deliver projects that are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business objectives. The ideal candidate combines foundational project management skills with technical aptitude and the ability to translate business needs into executable technical plans.
About the Role – You will:
- Lead 3-5 concurrent projects of moderate complexity that covers IT equipment installations and system integrations within ERP, MES and Reporting platforms.
- Develop project charters, scope definitions, timelines, and resource plans in collaboration with IT and business stakeholders.
- Manage project budgets ranging from $50K to $500K, tracking expenditures and ensuring financial accountability
- Coordinate vendor relationships, equipment procurement, and contractor activities
- Translate technical requirements into actionable project plans and communicate progress to non-technical stakeholders
- Coordinate system integrations between ERP, MES, data warehouses, and reporting tools
- Oversee solution design reviews, testing strategies, cutover planning, and go-live support
- Facilitate project governance meetings, status updates, and executive reporting
- Communicate progress, risks, and decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Build consensus among diverse stakeholders with competing priorities
- Manage control processes and ensure proper documentation of project decisions
- Identify project risks early and develop mitigation strategies
- Troubleshoot project roadblocks and escalate issues appropriately
- Track action items and drive accountability across project teams
Your Experience Includes:
- 3-5 years of project management experience, preferably within Information Technology group
- Bachelors degree in relevant field or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated success managing projects with budgets exceeding $100K
- Experience managing cross-functional teams, third-party system integrators and offshore teams
- CAPM or PMP certifications preferred but not required
- Working knowledge of SDLC/project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid approaches)
- Experience with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, JIRA, Smartsheet, or similar platforms
- Understanding of budget tracking, resource allocation, and timeline management
- Strong documentation skills for project plans, status reports, and lessons learned
- Excellent communication skills with ability to translate between technical and business audiences
- Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment
- Comfortable with ambiguity and changing priorities
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or related field
- PMP, CAPM, or equivalent project management certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Knowledge of ERP, MES, Reporting or ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow/JIRA
