Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Production Planner to join our Operations team. In this role, you will own material planning strategies that ensure uninterrupted production flow while optimizing inventory investment and minimizing supply chain risk across battery and electric vehicle manufacturing operations.

This is a senior-level role requiring independent judgment, cross-functional leadership, and deep expertise in material planning in a complex manufacturing environment.

About the Role – You will:

  • Own and maintain the master production schedule, translating customer demand and build plans into actionable material requirements.
  • Develop and manage material requirements planning (MRP) outputs, resolving exception messages and ensuring planning signals are accurate and actionable.
  • Lead Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) process for assigned areas, including facilitating demand review, supply review, and executive review cycles to align production plans with business objectives.
  • Provide forward-looking demand and supply analysis to leadership, highlighting risks, opportunities, and recommended actions.
  • Establish and maintain safety stock levels, reorder points, and min/max parameters across a broad parts catalog, balancing service level targets with inventory cost objectives.
  • Monitor and report on key planning KPIs including on-time delivery, inventory turns, excess & obsolete exposure, and supplier fill rates.
  • Serve as a power user of Oracle Cloud (or equivalent ERP), ensuring data integrity across item masters, planning parameters, and purchasing records.
  • Identify and drive resolution of systemic planning failures, including master data gaps and integration issues that degrade MRP signal quality.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and process documentation for planning and buying functions.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives that reduce lead times, improve planning accuracy, and eliminate manual workarounds.

Your Experience Includes:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business, or a related field.
  • 5–8 years of experience in production planning, material planning, and/or direct procurement in a manufacturing environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in ERP systems — Oracle Cloud experience strongly preferred.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, complex formulas, data modeling).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into decisions and communicate findings clearly to leadership.
  • Proven ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and drive issues to resolution without close supervision.

Preferred:

  • Experience in battery, EV, automotive, or similarly complex discrete manufacturing environments.
  • APICS CPIM or CSCP certification (or in progress).
  • Proficiency with Power BI or similar data visualization tools.
  • Familiarity with MRP II principles, safety stock methodologies, and demand planning best practices.
  • Experience supporting physical inventory, scrap reconciliation, and excess & obsolete disposition processes.
