This role sits within the UDH – GIS group on the Services Delivery team, focused on delivering software integrations and implementations for utility, telecommunications, and government clients. We are looking for a Senior GIS Integrations Technical Consultant who combines deep technical expertise in GIS systems and software development with the client-facing instincts of an experienced consultant. The ideal candidate thrives in complex, multi-stakeholder environments and is motivated to grow into broader leadership over time.
The Team:
You will join a collaborative services delivery team that specializes in GIS integrations and AutoCAD-based design solutions. The team manages multiple medium-to-large implementation projects simultaneously, working closely with cross-functional groups and an established partner network. We move at a fast pace and take pride in delivering on time and within budget. Consultants on this team own the full project delivery lifecycle — from requirements gathering through go-live — and are expected to lead client relationships with confidence and technical credibility. We value self-starters who bring strong opinions, communicate clearly, and hold themselves to a high standard of client satisfaction.
What you will do:
- Lead end-to-end delivery of GIS integration and software implementation projects for utility, telecommunications, and government clients, ensuring on-time and on-budget completion.
- Represent SBS as a primary client-facing consultant, running and managing meetings, gathering requirements, and aligning solutions to defined architecture and software parameters.
- Design, develop, and maintain integrations between GIS applications (ESRI ArcGIS, GE Smallworld) and ERP/EAM systems using C# .NET and Java.
- Execute and oversee ETL/translation processes, ensuring accurate and reliable data migration and transformation across systems.
- Provide guidance on SBS and industry best practices, contributing technical insight throughout the project lifecycle.
- Travel to client sites as needed — approximately 30% on average — to support project phases, internal conferences, and delivery events.
What skills you should have:
- 5 or more years of professional consulting services and/or software development experience.
- Proficiency in C# .NET and Java for integration and application development.
- Hands-on experience with GIS platforms such as ESRI ArcGIS, GE Smallworld, or comparable systems.
- Experience with relational databases including Oracle and SQL.
- Background in the utilities industry with familiarity in GIS data models and/or engineering design data models.
- Experience with ETL/translation processes and tools.
- Proven ability to lead client-facing implementations, gather and manage requirements, and run structured project meetings.
Skills that stand out:
- Experience working with web services and APIs for systems integration.
- Familiarity with Autodesk products including AutoCAD Map 3D, AutoCAD Electrical, or Inventor.
- Hands-on ESRI experience including ArcMap, ArcPro, ArcGIS Enterprise portals, geodatabases, and data analysis.
- Knowledge of Agile delivery methodologies, test-driven development, and electric distribution or transmission design domains.
