This is a hands-on, detail-oriented role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in keeping things organized and running smoothly.</p> <p><strong>On-the-job training is provided,</strong> and no prior transit experience is required.</p> <p><strong>What You'll Do:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Manage and maintain accurate inventory records for all parts, supplies, and materials used across the maintenance department.</li> <li>Process requisitions, purchase orders, and parts requests; from ordering and receiving to distributing, restocking, and returning parts as needed.</li> <li>Ensure parts and supplies are promptly issued to the maintenance team and other company departments to minimize vehicle downtime.</li> <li>Track all incoming and outgoing parts through a detailed, up-to-date inventory log.</li> <li>Produce regular reports on parts usage, equipment, fuels, fluids, and worker/equipment utilization.</li> <li>Monitor minimum and maximum inventory levels, flagging parts with high utilization rates or obsolete stock.</li> <li>Keep the storeroom clean, organized, and properly stocked at all times.</li> <li>Support the operations and maintenance teams with additional responsibilities as they arise.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Who You Are:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Organized and detail-oriented - you take pride in accurate records and a well-run storeroom.</li> <li>Dynamic; willing to wear multiple hats and work on projects of all types.</li> <li>An action-oriented executor: you take initiative to solve problems and get the job done.</li> <li>Proficient with computer systems, including Windows-based programs; experience with inventory or fleet management software is a plus.</li> <li>Able to safely operate a forklift and maintenance equipment (training provided).</li> <li>Eligible to obtain a Class B Commercial Driver's License with Air Brake and Passenger Endorsements (preferred).</li> <li>High School diploma or GED required; coursework or a degree in mechanics, business, or management is a plus.</li> <li>Able to lift, carry, and pull up to 50 lbs regularly, and up to 75–100 lbs occasionally.</li> <li>Successful completion of a drug test and criminal background check is mandatory for employment.</li> <li>Able to interview in person at the Mobile office.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Compensation and Benefits:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Final salary will be determined by the candidate's experience, knowledge, and skills.</li> <li>Salary starting at $18.30 / hour&nbsp;</li> <li>We are proud to offer a generous and comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees, including health and retirement benefits.</li> <li>This is a full-time, hourly position (40 hours/week).</li> <li>Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.</li> </ul> <p>There has never been a more exciting time to be on the cutting edge of public mobility.&nbsp;Ready to join the ride?</p> <p><em>Via is an equal opportunity employer.</em></p>
