About Us

SIMPLi is an award-winning, leading regenerative food brand on a mission to connect people around the world through the joy of food. Founded in 2020, SIMPLi co-founders Sarela Herrada and Matt Cohen sought to bring the best single-origin ingredients from around the world directly to you in a way that equally benefits people, producers, and the planet. SIMPLi partners directly with farmers to source the finest ingredients and make them accessible to consumers nationwide in stores, restaurants, and online.

If you’re passionate about food, sustainability, and making a difference, then SIMPLi is the place for you!

The Role

We’re hiring our first Global Sourcing Manager/Director to own and optimize the entire value chain of our global ingredient and packaging supply network. This is a foundational leadership role tasked with building our sourcing function from the ground up — creating visibility, accountability, and long-term resilience across every one of our supply chains.

This person will be both strategic and hands-on, responsible for understanding how our supply chains work in practice, identifying risks and inefficiencies, and proactively building sourcing strategies that improve margin, ensure consistency, and align with SIMPLi’s regenerative values.

What You’ll Do

Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management

  • Build and manage global supplier relationships across ingredients and packaging, with a focus on regenerative, organic, and vertically integrated models.
  • Lead negotiations to improve pricing, terms, and cost structures, while maintaining high product and ethical sourcing standards.
  • Diversify sourcing across regions and partners to mitigate risks and reduce concentration.

Supply Chain Optimization

  • Own the full value chain for every product — from raw material to packaging to port — and identify margin-improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Partner with Finance and Operations teams to ensure accurate landed cost calculations, margin visibility, and COGS reporting.
  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies for both high-growth SKUs and new product innovation.

Team Building & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Collaborate closely with QA, Regenerative Operations, Operations, and Finance to maintain quality, compliance, and cost accuracy across the business.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to Marketing, Sales, and Product Development to align sourcing decisions with go-to-market priorities.
  • Over time, build and lead a global sourcing team to support SIMPLi’s expansion and deepen our supplier impact.

Travel & Supplier Engagement

  • Travel regularly to supplier locations in Latin America, Europe, and other key sourcing regions to build trust, understand operations on the ground, and problem-solve in real time.
  • Ensure supplier partnerships are aligned with SIMPLi’s standards around regenerative agriculture, ethical labor, and long-term resilience.

Who You Are

  • Manager Level: 5+ years experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management (CPG or food strongly preferred).
  • Director Level: 8–10+ years experience including global sourcing strategy, supplier development, and team leadership.
  • Proven experience negotiating supply contracts and driving cost savings without compromising on quality or values.
  • Experience with international supplier management, preferably in high-integrity food or agriculture categories.
  • Strong understanding of landed cost, incoterms, supplier compliance, and operational logistics.
  • Highly analytical and comfortable with cost models, margin visibility, and cross-functional planning.
  • Fluent in English; Spanish fluency or proficiency highly preferred.
  • Willingness to travel internationally 30–40% of the time.

What Success Looks Like in This Role

  • Our supply chains are diversified, resilient, and cost-competitive.
  • We have deep, trusted relationships with our key suppliers.
  • Our margin profile improves through smarter sourcing decisions.
  • Our values around regeneration, transparency, and accountability are reflected in every sourcing partnership.
